Ronald Dion DeSantis, born on September 14, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida, is the son of Karen DeSantis and Ronald Daniel DeSantis. DeSantis’s mother’s family name,

Raised in Western Pennsylvania and Northeast Ohio, DeSantis’s parents met at Youngstown State University and later moved to Jacksonville before settling in Dunedin, Florida. Tragically, his younger sister, Christina, passed away in 2015 at the age of 30.

DeSantis was part of the Dunedin National team that reached the 1991 Little League World Series. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and Dunedin High School, graduating in 1997. Post-high school, he pursued a history degree at Yale University, where he excelled as captain of the varsity baseball team.

Graduating magna cum laude in 2001, DeSantis taught history and coached at Darlington School in Georgia before attending Harvard Law School, where he earned a Juris Doctor cum laude in 2005. At Harvard, he served as the business manager for the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy.
