Nimarata Nikki Haley was born to Sikh immigrants from India in Bamberg, South Carolina. Her parents, Ajit Singh Randhawa and Raj Kaur Randhawa relocated to the U.S. from Canada in 1964, with Ajit becoming a biology professor at Voorhees College.
Nikki assisted her parents’ clothing boutiques, including Exotica International and The Gentlemen’s Quarters. She completed her education at Orangeburg Preparatory Schools and graduated from Clemson University in 1994 with a BS in accounting and finance.
