Pamela Brown was born in Lexington, Kentucky in the United states. Her Father John Y. Brown was once the former Governor of Kentucky and her mother Phyllis George, (1949–2020) and former Miss America and businesswoman.
Brown received his broadcast journalism degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill after graduating from Henry Clay High School in Lexington.
She worked as a reporter for Carolina Week at the University of North Carolina. She worked for Washington’s ABC affiliate WJLA-TV after graduating from college.

Pamela Brown has served the media for about two decades. After graduating in 2006, she worked for news channel 8 as a reporter. She was a reporter for news channel 8 after graduation in 2006. She was nominated for an Emmy in special project reporting for national and international reporting.
Along with Kate Bouldan, Michael Pereira, and Chris Cuomo, Pamela was selected a co-anchor by CNN for the show New Day in 2013. Additionally, she co-hosted a number of The Situation Room episodes.
In January 2021, CNN announced that Brown would move to Senior Washington Correspondent and would host three hours of CNN Newsroom on weekends.
In a significant reorganization of its schedule, CNN declared on August 14, 2023, that Brown will host The Bulletin with Pamela Brown, a new daily program that airs from 3 to 4 p.m. ET. The Bulletin was supposed to debut at 11 a.m. ET in February 2024, but it was stated that time slot would change after Brown returned from maternity leave.
