Born in New York and raised in The Bronx, Gina Torres hails from a family with Cuban roots, where her father contributed as a typesetter for La Prensa and the New York Daily News. Fluent in Spanish, Torres embraced her mezzo-soprano talents early on, initiating her musical journey at a young age.
She attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Perform Arts in New York City, where she specialized in opera and jazz, showcasing her vocal prowess in a gospel choir.
