Katherine McNamara was born in Kansas City, Missouri and was the only child to her parents Ursula and Evan McNamara. She was brought up in Kansas city Missouri where she started stage acting at a young age. Then later moved to Los Angeles in 2011 in order to kick-start her acting career.
She graduated from high school at age 17, and then moved to study Business Administration at Drexel University where she obtained a bachelors degree.
